ABOUT MICRONEEDLING

Microneedling (aka collagen induction therapy) is an effective natural approach to skin rejuvenation and restoration.  A microneedling procedure allows for a controlled induction of the skin's self repair mechanism by creating micro-injuries in the skin using a device with a single use sterile needle head.  The microscopic channels created stimulate the body's natural wound healing response, which triggers new collagen and elastin synthesis.  With the use of a topical numbing agent, microneedling is a comfortable safe procedure, and tends to be more cost effective than other alternatives.  There is little to no downtime- skin will be flushed in appearance, similar to a mild/moderate sunburn.  You may also experience tightness, dryness, rough skin, and mild sensitivity.  Within 24-hours, the skin will have returned to normal.  Results may appear after just one microneedling treatment, but will continue to improve 3-6 months following your last treatment.  Based on your individual goals, a series of microneedling procedures may be recommended.  Typically, a series of 3-6 treatments spread apart every 30 days is recommended for a healthier looking more youthful appearance.
